Angel'wedding day

Angel’s wedding was the kind that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a film - big energy, huge bridal party, champagne flowing and a choreographed first dance that genuinely made me want to join in.

Despite the scale (21 faces to glam!), the morning felt joyful and completely in control. It was one of those days that was electric without ever feeling chaotic - and I was right in the heart of it.

The venue: The Old Hall, Ely, Cambridgeshire

The Old Hall in Ely is one of Cambridgeshire’s most romantic countryside wedding venues. Set against sweeping views and bathed in natural light, it has that perfect balance of relaxed elegance and understated luxury.

The large windows flood the rooms with soft daylight - a makeup artist’s dream - but with a venue like this, you also need makeup that transitions seamlessly into evening celebrations and dance floor lighting.

If you’re planning a wedding at The Old Hall Ely, it’s a setting that calls for glowing skin, soft definition and makeup that lasts beautifully from ceremony to party.

The bridal vision

Angel knew exactly how she wanted to feel: glowing, timeless and completely herself.

She had two dresses, two hairstyles and one very clear vision - elegant but fun, relaxed but polished. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, playlists and prosecco, but everything was beautifully choreographed from start to finish.

Even with guests flying in from all over the world, the morning never felt overwhelming. It felt celebratory.

The makeup look

We created a luminous soft glam look designed to hold up through sunshine, hugs and a packed dance floor.

  • Radiant, light-reflective base with a healthy glow

  • Warm champagne and soft neutral tones through the eyes

  • Individually placed lashes for flutter and lift

  • Glossy lip finish for a fresh, modern touch

  • Soft sculpting to define without heaviness

The focus was glow and longevity - something that would look effortless in natural daylight at The Old Hall, but still hold its shape under evening lights.

Her makeup stayed beautifully intact all day, through laughter, happy tears and serious dance moves.

Why this look worked so well

The Old Hall’s bright interiors and countryside views mean your skin is very much on show. Harsh or overly matte makeup would have felt too heavy.

So the approach needed to:

  • Enhance her natural features without masking them

  • Work in bright daylight and golden hour

  • Stay flawless through a large, high-energy bridal party

  • Feel lightweight, despite lasting power

With two additional makeup artists supporting the morning, everything ran smoothly and on schedule - even with 21 services.

That’s the power of planning and teamwork.

A note from Angel

“Hannah is a DREAM to work with! Not only is she extremely talented with makeup, but she makes you feel completely at ease. There were some bumps in our wedding morning and Hannah managed it all with calm and grace, which in turn made me feel at ease. She helped manage my MASSIVE bridal party of 21 and I would be happy to recommend her to anyone looking for a talented, professional, sweet makeup artist.”
